Baduk books

Korea is now the strongest go playing nation. This is reflected in the quality of its books.

Robert Jasiek has reviewed a number of Korean books without being able to read Korean. It turns out to be possible to get a lot of usefull information from these books by studing just the diagrams. These reviews are on David carlton's pages

High quality, hard cover editions intended to last for many days of study. The writer, Kwon Kam Hyo, is the owner of a top level go academy. Note about CD's supplied with Korean Books:

We consider these a free gift that comes with the book
We cannot guarantee it works on your PC, nor support you in getting it to work.
As far as I can see the CD works reasonably well on a western windows XP computer after you install the support files for far eastern languages. Some of the Korean text remains unreadable (that is: unreadable also for Korean speakers), but replaying the games is no problem.
The game records are in an unknown format.

Learn Korean?

Learning Korean is not as impossible as learning Chinese. The go books are all written in hangul, a phonetic alphabet. The syllables consist of 1 to 4 letters and look like chinese characters at first sight, but are something completely different. See also:
