Horse, cow, pig, or goat: Which animal row will yield the biggest payoff this round? In *Paardenkoppen* , the stacks grow as everyone tries to play their head cards at the right moment or block someone else’s.
Paardenkoppen is a card game centered around playing cards, betting, and thwarting each other. At the start of each round, you receive playing cards and place tokens next to the four animal rows. If you have a head card for the horse, cow, pig, or goat, you try to play it to win the corresponding tokens. Without a head card, you try to prevent another player from succeeding, so that the wager remains on the table and can be won again in a subsequent round. After the final round, everyone adds up the value of the tokens they’ve won. The player with the most tokens wins.
