Build the most beautiful Amsterdam-style canal houses full of shops, cats, seagulls, and tulips in this delightful card game!
Grachtenpand is a strategically light game for 2-4 players in which you build a set of idyllic traditional canal houses using ‘bases’, ‘floors’, and ‘roofs’. Every turn, each player simultaneously chooses one card from their hand and plays in accordance with a few rules.
After ‘building’, the players pass their remaining three cards to the player on their left. After receiving their new hand of cards from the right, every player chooses one card type (base, front, or roof) en draws one card of that type from its dedicated stack to refresh their hand to a total of four cards.
A complete house consists of a base on the bottom, any number of front cards, and one roof on top. The building process must start at the base and go up from there, ending with the placement of the roof. Points are awarded based on the amount of flowers placed in windowsills, the colours of the various cards, and the total number of finished houses built. May the best builder win!
