We have been assigned a mission to search for gemstones in the Orapa Mine, the world's largest diamond mine.
By sending ultrasonic beams deep into the ground and analyzing the returning signals, we can determine the location, orientation, and color of the gemstones. Can you find all the gemstones?
There are two ways to play this game: as a duel for 2 players or as a race for 3 or more players.
For 2 players:
In a duel, both players try to figure out their opponent's gemstone layout as quickly as possible. Both players arrange their gemstones on their boards according to specific rules.
Once both players have set up their boards, the game begins. On your turn, you may ask one of the following two questions:
If I send a beam from letter ?, where does it end up?
What is located at position ?? (e.g., C2)?
The player answering checks their code and provides the information.
If you think you have discovered your opponent's layout, you may use a turn to guess the solution.
The first player to decipher the location and orientation of all the gemstones wins.
For 3 or more players:
In a game with 3 or more players, one player creates a layout, and the other players must try to figure it out. Players take turns asking questions and recording the answers they receive (including those given to other players!) on their answer sheets.
If you think you have found the layout, you may use a turn to guess the solution.
Includes two mini-expansions:
Diamond:
The transparent diamond reflects ultrasonic beams in the same way but does not change the beam's color. Black Radiator:
Black gemstones do not reflect ultrasonic rays but absorb them. There is no endpoint and no color to speak of.
