Japanese Trickbox with 5 steps the first of which is unlike any other....
The opening method is unique and a bit tricky, so possibly watch the video below before purchasing. (SPOILER ALERT!)
This box differs from a usual Japanese puzzle box in the first move (1st step). At the beginning, you have to do something special before the next panel (2nd step) can move. The hint is hidden in the name of this box....
The top panel is made of five types of natural wood: Rengas, Urushi, Nyatoh, Purple Heart and Mizuki.
"The Japanese puzzle box (Himitsu-bako) is made exclusively of wood, eco-friendly products. This is one of Japan's traditional works of art. Its origin even dates back to the Edo and Meiji era (1800) in Japan. It has been handed down by a very small number of craftsmen. I make these puzzle boxes myself full-time. I trained for 10 years and have been making these Japanese puzzle boxes and Yosegi-zaiku for over 20 years. All items are made in my workshop, and I promise that all boxes are of good quality. My puzzle boxes will move smoothly because I will check and test all puzzle boxes before shipping them. If you have any question, please feel free to ask me anything. Thank you!!! Hiroyuki Oka"
